.....A
woman's body was created to give birth to children. Her heart
was made to love children and nurture them. Her arms were
made to hold children. A woman longs to have and raise children.
This is true of your wife. She desperately wants to be the
best mother and best wife that she can be. Your wife will
struggle to maintain a balance between being a good wife and
a good mother. Your prayers are crucial to this. You must
intercede for her as the mother of your children. Your praying
will help her to maintain this balance. It will release God's
grace and power into her life so that she can be a faithful
wife and mother.
.....The
following prayer guide is offered to help you do this. This
prayer guide is designed to help you intercede for your wife
and her task as a mother. Plead the truths of the Scripture
for your wife's role as a mother.
Father,
empower me to be the spiritual leader of the home. Grant me
the wisdom and insight to share the task of parenting with
______________________. Help me to her in every way that she
needs me. Empower me to strengthen her and encourage her as
the mother of our child/children (Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs
2:6).
Father,
I pray that You would enable __________________ to be the
best mother of our child/children that she can be. Teach her
that through Your power she can do this (Philippians 4:13).
Father,
I plead that _________________ will depend on You in raising
our child/children. I ask that she will trust in You with
all her heart. I pray that she will not lean on her own understanding.
Cause her to acknowledge you in all her decisions and dealings
with our child/children. Direct her paths as she ministers
to our child/children (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father,
You are the perfect Parent. You are full of compassion and
patience for Your children. I pray that _______________ will
be filled with compassion and patience for our child/children.
Enable her to exercise this compassion and patience in all
her dealings with our child/children (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Father,
I ask You to fill ____________________ with the wisdom to
discipline our child/children. Grant her the insight that
she needs in order to correct and guide our child/children
(Proverbs 2:6).
Father,
I plead that ___________________ will have a growing, intimate
relationship to You and Your Word. Out of this, I ask that
she will teach our child/children Your Word. Help her to teach
and model the truth of Your Word (Deuteronomy 6:6-9).
Father,
I pray that You would grant __________________ a spirit of
prayer for our child/children. Teach her how to pray for ____________________.
Give her wisdom, insight, and power to intercede according
to Your will for him/her/them (Colossians 4:2).
Father,
I ask that our child/children will respect _________________
and will be obedient to her. Grant him/her/them teachable
and submissive spirit(s). Give him/her/them a heart to hear
and do what she says (Ephesians 6:1).
Father,
I plead that __________________'s child/children will rise
up and call her blessed. Empower her to raise them in such
a way that they will be grateful and thankful for her. Enable
her to be the kind of mother that he/she/they will thank God
for all the days of his/her/their life/lives (Proverbs
31:28).
Father,
I pray that ______________ will find fulfillment, contentment,
and joy as a mother. Yet, never let her forget who she is
in Christ (Psalm 127:3).
