wife's greatest need is her relationship to God. Your wife
can experience deep and abiding fulfillment through her relationship
to you. Yet it is only God who can meet the deepest needs
of her heart and life. For this reason, you must pray for
her spiritual growth.
....The
following Scripture prayers can enable you to pray for this.
In order to use these prayers, place her name in the blank
and plead the truth of Scripture.
(1) Assurance
of salvation
I pray that _______________ will gain a firm understanding
of her secure position in Jesus Christ. Grant her the assurance
of salvation. I pray that she would know that she has believed
in Christ and received his salvation (1 John 5:13).
(2) Purity
I pray that ____________ will resist and flee temptation and
develop a desire for purity. Enable her to confess and repent
of her sins (1 John 1:9; Hebrews 12:14).
(3) Love for God
I pray that ____________ will have a sincere, growing love
for God. I pray that she would love You with all her being
(Matthew 22:37).
(4) Love for others
I pray that ____________ will be filled with a godly love
for others that reaches out with compassion. Grant her a servant's
heart for others and their needs (Matthew 20:28).
(5) Heart for Scripture
I ask that _______________ will have a hunger for the Word
of God. I pray that the Word will be a light to ___________'s
path and a lamp to ___________ feet. I plead that she will
love Your Word and will meditate on it daily (Psalm 119:97,
105).
(6) Spiritual gifts and abilities
I pray that ___________ will recognize her spiritual gifts
and abilities and will long to use them for God's glory. Reveal
to her the spiritual gifts that You have given her and empower
her to use them (1 Corinthians 12).
(7) Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
I pray that You will grant ____________ a special sensitivity
to the Holy Spirit. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit. I ask
that she would walk in the Spirit daily (Ephesians 5:18).
(8) Growing faith
I ask that ____________ will grow in her trust in You and
will walk by faith and not by sight. Teach her to trust in
You and to acknowledge You in all her ways (2 Corinthians
5:7).
(10) A Witness For Jesus Christ
I pray that __________ would receive power from the Holy Spirit
and that ___________ would be a witness for You wherever he/she
goes (Acts 1:8).
(11) Spiritual Warfare
I pray that ___________ would be sober and vigilant because
his/her enemy, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour. I plead that ____________ will
resist him steadfast in the faith, knowing that other brothers
and sisters across the world are facing the same battles
(1 Peter 5:8-9).
(12) Worship
Father, I plead that ____________ will develop a lifestyle
of praise. It is good to sing praises to You, our mighty God.
It is pleasant and it is beautiful. Create in him/her a desire
to praise You daily (Psalm 147:1-2).
(13) Prayer
I ask that _____________ would be earnestly devoted to prayer
along with thanksgiving. I plead, O God, that _______________
would develop a daily, on-going conversation with You (Colossians
4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).
(14) Priorities
Father, I plead that _____________ would seek first the kingdom
of God and Your righteousness and then all these things that
he/she needs will be added to him/her (Matthew 6:33).
