....A
parent desires that his or her child is safe and healthy physically.
Yet, a parent also longs that the child is healthy emotionally.
Emotional well being is crucial for relationships at all levels-God,
church, work, marriage, and family. Damaged and unhealthy
emotions can cause massive problems for a person and his or
her life. This is an area that must be covered in prayer.
....The
following prayers can help you intercede for your child's
emotional well being. In order to use the prayers, simply
place the name of your child in the blank and plead the truth
of the Scripture his or her behalf.
Father, I plead that You will cause __________________ to
know that he/she is fearfully and wonderfully made. I ask
that __________________ will see that he/she is Your precious
and unique creation. Teach ________________ that he/she is
precious in Your sight and that You love him/her (Psalm
139:14-15).
Father, I pray that _________________ will love his/her enemies.
Empower him/her to do good to those who hate him/her. Help
__________________ to bless those who curse him/her. Teach
_________________ to pray for those who mistreat him/her.
Father, I plead that __________________ will do for others,
as he/she would like them to do for him/her (Luke 6:27-31).
Father, I plead that ___________________ will grow as Jesus
did in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men (Luke
2:52).
Father, teach __________________ that the fear of man brings
a snare, but that the one who trusts in You will be kept safe.
I plead that _______________ will strive to win Your praise
rather than seek the approval of his/her peers (Proverbs
29:25; John 5:44).
Father, I pray that _________________ would be filled with
joy given by the Holy Spirit. I ask that ________________
would always be joyful, pray without ceasing, and give thanks
in every circumstance because this is Your will for him/her
(1 Thessalonians 1:6; 5:16-18).
Father, I pray that ___________________ would be diligent
to confess his/her sins. Cause him/her to know that You are
faithful and just to forgive and cleanse ______________ of
his/her sin when he/she confesses. Grant ________________
a repentant spirit. Deliver him/her from becoming complacent
toward sin. Don't let him/her get bogged down by past sins
and guilt. Cause him/her to focus on Your grace and love and
the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ (1 John 1:9;
Proverbs 28:13).
Father, when _________________ feelings are hurt, I pray
that _______________ will rest in Your love and depend on
Your promises. Cause him/her to look to You for the help and
the comfort that he/she needs (Romans 5:5; 2 Corinthians
1:3-4).
Father, I ask You to create within __________________ a forgiving
spirit. Empower him/her to freely forgive others. Protect
him/her from a bitter and angry spirit. Instead of responding
with bitterness and anger, enable _____________ to respond
with forgiveness and mercy. I ask that ________________ would
be kind to others, tenderhearted, forgiving others as God
through Christ has forgiven him/her (Ephesians 4:31-32).
Father, I plead that You would satisfy __________________
with Your unfailing love. I pray that _____________ would
sing for joy all the days of his/her life (Psalm 90:14).
Lord, when ________________ is confronted with fear, pressure,
or worry, I ask that he/she will trust in You. I pray that
________________ will not be afraid but will know that You
are with him/her. I plead that ________________ would not
be dismayed but would know that You are his/her God. Strengthen
and help _______________. I plead that You would uphold __________________
with Your righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
Father, I plead that ________________'s identity would be
rooted in Your love and Your work in his/her life. Cause him/her
to know that he/she is the work of Your hands and that he/she
has is precious and valuable. Help him/her to experience Your
love in his/her life (Psalm 139:14).
Father, You are the Healer of the brokenhearted. You bind
up the wounds. I pray that You would grant emotional healing
in ___________________'s life. Bind up the emotional wounds
that he/she has suffered. Let Your love and grace restore
and rebuild the damaged emotions. I plead that _______________
will experience wholeness through the power of Jesus Christ
(Psalm 147:3).
