Prayers For Your Leaders
.....The
following are prayers that you can use to intercede for your leaders.
They are based on the Scripture and you can plead with confidence
and expectancy. You can use these or develop your own from them.
Balance your praying for your leaders between praying the Scripture
for your leaders and interceding concerning the issues that they
face. Plead with God to lead you to the Scriptures that you need
to pray in those situations. You can pray for these individuals
by placing their name in the blank and plead the truth of the
Scripture with God.
Father, I plead that You will meet _________________'s spiritual
need. If ________________ is not a Christian, I ask that You will
draw him/her to Jesus Christ. Raise up witnesses who can powerfully
share the gospel with him/her. Save _______________ by Your grace
and mercy (John 3:16-18).
Father,
I ask You to strengthen and encourage _______________'s faith
in You. Empower ______________ to be salt and light in his/her
position. Create within _________________ a hunger, a longing,
for You and Your will (Matthew 5:13-16; Psalm 42:1-2).
Father,
I ask that _________________ would fear You and know that he/she
is accountable to you for the decisions and actions of his/her
life (Proverbs 9:10).
Father,
I pray that ________________ will be surrounded by godly counsel
and God-fearing advisors (Proverbs 24:6).
Lord,
I plead that ________________ will recognize his/her own inadequacy
and will pray and seek the will of God for his/her decisions
(Proverbs 3:5-8; Luke 11:9-13).
I
pray that ________________ would be honest in financial, tax,
and ethical matters (1 Corinthians 6:10; 1 Timothy 6:6-10).
Father,
I ask that _________________ will have the courage to resist manipulation,
bribery, pressure, and the fear of man (Proverbs 29:25; 2 Timothy
1:7).
Father,
create within ________________. Grant him/her a compassionate
heart for the poor and needy (Psalm 112:9; Luke 10:33-37).
I
plead that ________________ will desire and pursue integrity and
loyalty (Psalm 26; Proverbs 11:3).
I
pray that _______________ will be prepared to give an account
to You, the Judge of all the earth and Almighty God (Hebrews
9:27).
I
plead that _______________ desire and pursue humility and meekness.
Cause _____________ to be willing to serve and cooperate (John
13:14; Titus 3:1-2).
Father,
I ask that ________________ would endeavor to restore the sanctity
of life, families, divine order, and morality in this nation
(Ephesians 5:22-6:4).
I
pray that You would grant _______________ wisdom and understanding
to govern the people (James 1:5).
I
ask that _______________ will be convicted of his/her sins. Lead
him/her to confess his/her sins and to seek You with all his/her
heart (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9; James 4:8).
I
plead that _________________ will read the Bible and attend prayer
meetings and Bible studies (Psalm 119:11; Colossians 3:16).
Father,
I pray that ________________ would value and regard the Ten Commandments
and the teachings of Jesus Christ (Psalm 19:7-11; John 8:31-32).
I
ask that _________________ would respect authority and practice
accountability (Proverbs 13:1-7).
Lord God, I pray that ________________ will be faithful, loving,
and honest with his/her spouse and children (Malachi 2:15-16).
Father,
I plead that ________________ would desire purity and would avoid
debauchery, pornography, perversion, and drunkenness (1 Corinthians
6:9-20; Titus 2:12).
Father,
I ask that _______________ would lead according to mercy and truth
(Proverbs 20:28).
Father,
I plead that __________________ would be wise. I ask that ______________
will have a teachable spirit. Let ________________ worship the
Lord with reverence and rejoice with fear (Psalm 2:10-11).
I
pray that _________________ would be free of and not entrapped
by covetousness and immorality. I plead that ________________
